“Markem-Imaje is entirely focused on what its customers need, offering a one-stop point of contact. That kind of service is greatly appreciated.”RAJENDRA GURSAHANEY, Senior Engineering Director |
The Pepsi Bottling plant, opened in Domodevo in 2009, produces 14 million crates of Lipton ice tea every year. When this second Moscow plant was being built, the issue of which printers to choose quickly came up for the world’s biggest producer, distributor and retailer of Pepsi-Cola. To comply with Russian regulations and the quality requirements demanded by Pepsi-Cola, as well as Unilever which owns the Lipton brand, every bottle and every crate needs to be identified. The bottles are marked on the neck and cap: two lines for the neck (the plant’s initial, the production line, the expiry date and the time), and one for the cap with the expiry date. Martin Bailey, Strategic Account Manager at Markem-Imaje, advised Pepsi Bottling’s Senior Engineering Director, Rajendra Gursahaney, to choose four 9040 IP65 dual printhead small-character inkjet printers. He didn’t take much persuading: “The other Moscow plant was entirely satisfied with the performance of the Markem-Imaje printers. I really liked their technical qualities and efficiency. What’s more, the cost was very competitive!” Pepsi Bottling was also won over by the quality of customer service: installation and launch of the printers, personnel training, after-sales, etc. “If I have a technical problem or just need some information, I call the same number!”
